ELTAI Lucknow NEWS

Hi Folks!
Congrats! On your wise decision of joining the ELTAI Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow Chapter. You have the distinction of being the founder members!
Well, the ELTAI Lko Chapter has found its feet and is surely and steadily gaining ground. Lots been done since we applied for opening a chapter here; for one, we’ve received the letter of recognition and yes, our first meeting of the chapter was a great success (for those who couldn’t attend-we missed you!). I’m also sure you got the first taste of being a part of ELTAI Lko, a community of caring and committed professionals, when you received your membership receipts and a copy of the prestigious ELTAI journal, JELT from our office in Chennai. By the way, JELT’s also announced an international conference in Gujrat coming early next year (check your copy for details).
We request active participation from all our members so we can be a vibrant community of language teachers and achieve some of the association’s objectives of:

Ø
fostering and promoting scholarship relating to language teaching
Ø fostering high academic and professional standards
Ø breaking down the isolation that teachers experience both in their classrooms and in
their institutional settings
Ø encouraging cooperation and mutual support
Ø fostering the articulation and development of teacher-theory concerning classroom

language learning
Ø offering a regular forum for the introduction, production and exchange of
materials and other ELT resources
Ø learning about upcoming conferences and ELT courses
Ø Providing excellent networking opportunities to all its members.
Looking forward to catching up with you at our, soon to be announced next meeting.

Cheers!
